Ni Hao Ma... Ni chi le ma???  Towards the end of my Master's degree training here in the States, my studies lead me to the city of Cheng Du in Sichuan Province, China.  While there, the most common greeting I heard wasn't "hello" or "how are you?", it was "have you eaten?"  I couldn't understand why everyone there was so concerned with the state of my stomach!?!?  In time I came to understand how Chinese medicine is completely rooted in the culture where it originated, and how their language and specifically this greeting is fundamental to the entire thought process.  Here we may say "you are what you eat", but in China they truly live by this premise.
